January 2019 Chapter Meeting

The January 2018 Chapter meeting, hosted by Allen Millwork Co. is scheduled for Thursday, January 17th beginning at 5:30 PM at Bruff’s Bar & Grill, 2640 W. 18th Ave., Emporia, KS. The program on the insurance benefits of using automated material handling and assistive devices will be presented by Federated Insurance. RSVP to Carol Dragoo at Allen Millwork Co. 2018 Chapter Golf Tournament

The 2018 Heart of America Chapter Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, September 20th beginning at 9:00am at the Emporia Golf Course in Emporia, KS. The cost including 18 holes of golf, cart and meal ticket is $65. Use this link to download the form and sign up for the event. Please note that if you have multiple members attending from your company each one should be listed on the form. Paper forms are also available by emailing Dustin Hecht.

Hole sponsorships are also available and include a sign at the tee box of the sponsored hole, 18 holes of golf for one, cart, and one lunch ticket for $200. Vendors interested in hole sponsorship and/or donating promotional gifts or cash for prizes, contact Dustin Hecht by September 15th.

There is also a silent auction form as well for those of you who would like to donate product. Please have a company representative send this form to Dustin Hecht. The silent auction benefits the Heart of America AWI Scholarship Fund.

Heart of America AWI 2018 Scholarship Awarded

The Heart of America Chapter AWI would like to congratulate Jennifer Lopez who has been selected as the recipient of the 2018 Heart of America Chapter scholarship. Jennifer is a sophomore at Pittsburg State University pursuing a degree in Wood Technology with an emphasis in Wood Product Manufacturing as well as a minor in Business Administration. She is an active member in the Saw Club.

The March 2018 Chapter meeting, hosted by Pittsburg State University is scheduled for Thursday, March 15th beginning at 5:30 PM at the Kansas Technology Center, 909 E. Ford, Pittsburg, KS. The program will be Shop Safety presented by PSU Safety, Health and Environmental Management. RSVP to Charlie Phillips at Pittsburg State University. Deadline for reservations is March 12th.
