Heart of America Chapter President Dustin Hecht announced at the November 2014 meeting that he was starting a new tradition for the Heart of America Chapter this year to help get members involved. It will be known as the “Presidents Award for Outstanding Chapter Member of the Year”. This year’s recipient is Charlie Zizumbo. Charlie recently retired from Salina Planing Mill. Charlie serves the Heart of America Chapter as Chairman of the Membership Committee. His work helped add 5 new members to the organization this past year. Charlie is also involved with many non-for-profit organizations including the Skills USA contest and continues to contribute to the woodworking community after his recent retirement.
